Edwina Ashton’s work consists of drawings, animations, sculptures, videos and performances. Often featuring absurd characters and quirky creatures from Spanish soldiers to stick insects, her practice has a particularly British eccentricity that is both gloomy and humorous.

In this talk Ashton will discuss her multi-disciplinary practice and the process of developing commissioned works, including most recently, a new work for the Paediatric Burns Unit of Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

Edwina Ashton was born in London in 1965 and graduated in Fine Art from Goldsmith’s College in 1996. She lives and works in Bristol and is represented by WORKS|PROJECTS.
