The Box Office and Cinema will be closed between Wednesday 24th December and Thursday 1st January. Open from 1pm to 8.30pm on Friday 2nd January, and from 10.30am to 8pm on Saturday 3rd January.

Our Brie(f) Encounter + cheese tasting fundraiser was brilliant! Big thanks to everyone who came and supported, a fantastic £850 was raised towards the cost of our new projector.

🧀 We tasted a delicious festive cheeseboard of Stilton, Brie and Lancashire (a nod to the location of Brief Encounter). Thank you Matthew Onuki Luke from the @cheese_academy for providing the cheese!

🇫🇷 Catch the French Film Festival, with three films we're sure you'll love, picked by our resident French staff member, Manon.

🌙 Blue Moon sees Director Richard Linklater tell the story of the professional break-up of Rodgers & Hammerstein, with Ethan Hawke, Andrew Scott and Margaret Qualley.

The screening on Wednesday 26th November (fuel poverty awareness day) will be presented in collaboration with Plymouth Energy Community @pecfuturefit . A panel discussion and Q&A will follow the film.

On Wednesday 26th November, the SUNLIGHT GATHERING artwork will be displayed in the reception area.
Sunlight Gathering invites people to sit, connect, and celebrate creativity and the magic of solar energy. This unique collaborative artwork uses interactive pads in the floor and seat to trigger lights and is charged through a unique etched recycled solar panel. Hand-crafted, embossed decorations were co-created with members of the local community and Plymouth Energy Community. Created by @art_and_energy Collective, with the aim to spark all sorts of conversations about the importance of solar power.

Inspired by lockdown mutual aid initiatives, artist-activists Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn decided to turn their street into an energy-generating powerhouse - a prototype for a new way of living, with the hope of galvanising a wider push towards sustainable alternatives. Directed by the duo, Power Station charts their turbulent journey, from pitching the idea to their neighbours and sleeping on the roof of their home, to raising finance and launching a bid for a Christmas number one single. By turns funny and heartwarming, the film is a vibrant portrait of their local neighbourhood, and a charming testament to the power of art in changing minds about what could be possible.
